ER

Last weekend we had quite the weekend. Lukas was running a fever up in the over 104's...it spiked up to 105.1 at some point...so we finally decided to take him to the e.r. Poor child..and mom and dad. We were there until like 2am. If we add the total amt. of time they actually spent on him...it might have totaled to like 27 mins. We were there for like 4 hours. If there is an e.r person out there..can someone explain this to me? We live at the beach...very small number of people. There was noone in the waiting room, the parking lot was empty...we saw people walking by all the time...but I dont understand why when someone goes to the er it takes forever.

Anyways, he was ok...we dealt w/the fever for a few more days, his grumpiness, his mood changes (1 minute he wanted mom, the next dad) and then either an allergic reaction to some antibiotics or something called roseola...good to say ...HE'S FINE. We persevered and didn't let that affect our Temple Trip.
Here are some snapshots of our ER visit.

He still managed a smile for picture/blog obsessed mother.

  2. How scary. I've had a fever of 105 before and I swear my brain was melting, I can't believe he held up so well. What a little trooper.

Glad he is okay and happy again.

  3. poor little guy. it's so sad when your little ones are sick and you can't really do much for them.

  4. Glad to hear he is doing well. As far as the doctor thing i agree 100%, it is ridiculous. Monday aimee had her surgery to have her tonsils out and we were supposed to be there at 8:05. So we get there, fill out the paperwork, sit in the waiting room for about 5 minutes and then they take her back. The nurses are in there with us for about 15 minutes total getting her prepped...2 HOURS LATER she goes back to have surgery. Seriously just tell us to be there at 10:30!

Haven't had little ones yet so i don't know that feeling, but it is terrible sitting there watching aimee and not being able to do anything for her :( :(
